The fee for participants includes costs of participation in scientific sessions, symposium materials, transport by charter buses from Bratislava to Smolenice and back, meals (full board), coffee breaks during the Symposium, and all social events. Free parking at the Castle and WiFi internet access point are also available. The fee for accompanying persons includes meals (full board), as well as social events planned for participants.

Costs for accommodation are paid extra (from 30 to 80 Euro per person/night, according to room price)

In the case of dietary restrictions please contact the Organizing Committee in advance.

Please, note that you must pay all bank transfer charges so that we receive the full payment due. Specify the name of the participant when the fee is covered by payment made by a company or an institution. Personal checks will not be accepted. Your registration will be confirmed as soon as the payment is received. All payments at the registration desk in Smolenice will be accepted in cash only.

Transportation

Bratislava can be easily reached by plane, bus, train or car. The participants can arrive directly to Bratislava by plane. Another possibility is to fly to Vienna and to proceed to Bratislava by coach or train. There is a regular bus connection between the Vienna International Airport (Schwechat) and Bratislava Main Bus Station. The trip to Bratislava takes 50 min. Trains from Vienna take about 55 minutes to reach Bratislava Main Railway Station (Hlavná stanica). Taxicabs are available at the airport, railway and coach terminals. Smolenice can be reached from Bratislava by taxi or public transportation, particularly convenient are buses departing from the Main Bus Station.

Special Symposium charter bus will depart from Bratislava to Smolenice on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at 3 p.m. (15:00) from Trnavské mýto square (from a parking lot located in front of the „Istropolis" building). Return transportation from Smolenice to Bratislava will be arranged on June 23, 2011 (bus is leaving Smolenice at 12:30).

Accommodation

During the Symposium, participants will be accommodated at the Smolenice Castle. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Since there is a limited number of single rooms in the Castle, we ask for your kind understanding when some participants will have to share the rooms. The accommodation in Smolenice Castle is reserved for participants and accompanying persons only for the days of the duration of the Symposium. Those wishing to stay in Bratislava on days before and/or after the Symposium are encouraged to contact the Organizing Committee in order to make necessary arrangements.

Social events

Social program will comprise informal welcome mixer, festive dinner and a half day sightseeing tour in Bratislava.

Climate and Clothing

Slovakia has a continental climate, with four distinct seasons. Summers tend to be hot and humid. The average daily temperature range in Bratislava is from 16°C to 26°C (61°F to 79°F) in June. You may check current weather forecast at www.meteo.sk

Formal dress will not be required for any of the symposium actions.

Electricity

In Slovakia the line voltage is 220 V, 50 Hz AC. Please note that there are European/continental type electric sockets in Slovakia with a central ground rod.

Insurance

Participants are responsible for arranging their own health, travel and accident insurance. The Organizing Committee will not be held liable for accidents, theft or property damage nor for delays or any modification to the program.

Banking

Exchange offices are opened at larger hotels in Bratislava daily. Most of the restaurants and shops accept major credit cards. The ATM machines in Smolenice accept Visa, Eurocard/MasterCard, Visa Electron and Maestro cards for withdrawal of Euro currency.
