The 14th Bratislava Symposium on Saccharides is traditionally held in Smolenice Castle located nearby the municipality Smolenice in Trnava District. It is 60 km northeast of Bratislava and 25 km northwest of Trnava. Smolenice Castle (N 48.51359 / E 17.43232) is the most dominant object of the municipality. Currently, the castle serves as a Congress centre of the Slovak Academy of Sciences  and throughout the year it hosts number of scientific conferences and symposia. The castle offers full hospitality for participants and also allows accommodation in various types of rooms. Congress hall can host up to 100 people.

• By plane
Vienna airport is located 18 km southeast of central Vienna and 57 km west of Bratislava. Bratislava airport is located 9 km northeast of Bratislava city centre.

• By train
Bratislava Main railway station is located nearby the city center.

• By bus
Bratislava Central bus station is located about 1 km from city centre.

• From Vienna airport to Bratislava
You can use bus or taxi. Bus is the most convenient and economic way of transport between Vienna airport and Bratislava. It takes one hour. Currently, 3 companies (Regiojet, Slovak Lines/Postbus and Blaguss Slovakia/Flixbus) operates this connection.

• 14th BSS Shuttle bus (free of charge)
The Shuttle bus will go directly from Bratislava to Smolenice castle on Sunday afternoon (June 25) and return on Friday morning (June 30), and is organized by the organisators. Detailed information about the 14th BSS Shuttle bus and how to get to the Smolenice Castle can be downloaded here.

• Car
You can easily access Smolenice castle by car from Bratislava via Pezinok (60 km) or you can take the motorway via Trnava, then take direction Senica and turn left in Trstín (75 km). GPS: 48°30'49"N, 17°25'57"E

• Public bus
You can take a bus from Bratislava central bus station to Smolenice. The journey takes 1.5 h. Attention! The bus is not going directly to the castle, you will have to get off on stop “Smolenice OcU” and then to walk 15 min up the hill to access the conference venue.
